The twisted top
We describe a new type of top, the twisted top, obtained by appending a cocycle to the Lie–Poisson bracket for the charged heavy top, thus breaking its semidirect product structure. The twisted top has an integrable case that corresponds to the Lagrange (symmetric) top. We give a canonical description of the twisted top in terms of Euler angles. We also show by a numerical calculation of the la...
متن کاملTwisted bundles and twisted K-theory
Many papers have been devoted recently to twisted K-theory as originally defined in [15] and [29]. See for instance the references [2], [23] and the very accessible paper [30]. We offer here a more direct approach based on the notion of “twisted vector bundles”. This is not an entirely new idea, since we find it in [4], [6], [7], [8] and [9] for instance, under different names and from various ...

house at night and stabs his father to death in a callous and brutal act of revenge. 'Georgie' then proceeds to disrupt the Harper household. He displaces one of Mrs. Harper's paying guests, Gerry Henderson, from her affection and she tells her lover to leave. Susan later discovers 'Georgie's' true identity and his interest in sex and violence, and begins to suspect his connection with Mr. Durn...
متن کاملTwisted Alexander Invariants of Twisted Links
Let L = 1∪· · ·∪ d+1 be an oriented link in S3, and let L(q) be the d-component link 1 ∪· · ·∪ d regarded in the homology 3-sphere that results from performing 1/q-surgery on d+1. Results about the Alexander polynomial and twisted Alexander polynomials of L(q) corresponding to finite-image representations are obtained. The behavior of the invariants as q increases without bound is described.
متن کاملThe Twisted Mellin Transform
The “twisted Mellin transform” is a slightly modified version of the usual classical Mellin transform on L([0,∞)). In this short note we investigate some of its basic properties. From the point of view of combinatorics one of its most interesting properties is that it intertwines the differential operator, df/dx, with its finite difference analogue, ∇f = f(x)−f(x−1). From the point of view of a...
